The Successful Applicant

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. GS12 Must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments of which 12 months must be equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS11. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Knowledge of social work theories principles techniques and resources. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems helping them workout plans for improving the situation providing assistance and services referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Supports the development and annual review of written standard operating procedures governing the behavioral health system of care. Develops and provides access to primary prevention services to inform and educate about the dynamics treatments and behaviors associated with psychological illness. Builds efficient processes to manage behavioral health referrals and case management services. AND Education Must have at least a Masters degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and acceptable to The Surgeon General. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcript in order to be considered. AND Clinical License Must have a current unrestricted State license. NOTE: You must submit a copy of a current unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin Islands to be considered. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981 08001630 MF or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification. The duties listed must fully substantiate in your own words that you meet the minimum requirements and specialized experience listed above in detail otherwise you will not be considered qualified for this position. Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Your experience will be evaluated on the basis of duties performed. Your record of experience training and education must show possession of the following knowledge skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position: Knowledge of the principles policies program goals and methodology of the National Guard quality of life programs including factors that affect work and leisure environments to identify family issues that require exploration development and resolutions and determines appropriate methods and resources such as referral to social service programs and agencies to provide information about National Guard assistance programs to gather and analyze information on problems and difficulties of obtaining assistance using the current system to provide programs that address such problems and to recommend action to improve the system. Knowledge of various analytical techniques to conduct projects and studies to evaluate program effectiveness and efficiency. Knowledge of evaluative techniques and methods (and the ability to adapt as appropriate) to analyze reports gather data review suggestions and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the ANG Family Program sufficient to recognize and define social problems to reach accurate conclusions and to measure and improve human services program effectiveness and productivity and make recommendations for program improvement. Knowledge of project management and analytical study techniques to conduct studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Skill in evaluating various operational alternatives and developing recommendations for management consideration. Ability to develop solutions based on findings of projects and studies. Ability to provide recommendations to unique and unusual issues or problems with multiple variables in order to assist family members. Ability to provide briefings and orientations to family members and volunteers. Ability to enhance and maximize the volunteer capability to support the family program with active volunteer services and maintaining records of volunteers for base family activities particular services and specialty expertise. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interacting with individuals/families and program support representatives. Skill in using various computer software database spreadsheet and word processing. Ability to collect evaluate and disseminate information and assess strengths weaknesses and needs of serviced population in order to establish program goals objectives and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
