The Successful Applicant

Additional Condition of Employment: IOS government civilian providers who work with a unit supporting Personnel Reliability Assurance Program (PRAP) Airmen (such as Security Forces Missile Maintenance etc.) will be required to accomplish specific PRAP training using a variety of methods to include medical treatment facility in processing clinic briefings and peer education. In addition to local training they will attend the USAFSAM Medical PRAP course for certification within six months of hire. Funding for this course will be provided by the unit/organization the employees align too through a unit manning document. Basic Requirements Degree that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Combination of education and experience that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences and that provided applicants with knowledge of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a 4year degree as shown in A above. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge skills abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Professional knowledge of clinical counseling practices principles theories and administrative requirements to be able to apply them in a clinical or occupational setting and medical documentation. 2. Professional knowledge of evidencebased treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide treatment to patients. 3. Knowledge of diagnostic issues related to psychiatric disorders IAW the most current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association. 4. Knowledge of military organizations and culture and the unique stressors upon workers in an operational military workplace. 5. Knowledge of administration scoring and interpretation of select psychological and psychosocial screening measures to properly assess patients needs. understanding of behavioral risk management and ability to engage appropriate protections as needed when risk of harm to self or others is present. 6. Ability to provide guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders and facilitate referrals to military or communitybased human service agencies and resources e.g. Protective Services or financial aid organizations. 7. Knowledge of social services delivery systems to ensure effective program management and communication
