For current Federal employees if hours worked per week are not included on your resume you must submit a nonaward SF50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees your resume must state either fulltime (or 40 hours a week) or parttime with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service the DD214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or parttime hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. BASIC EDUCATION for the Social Scientist (Science Coordinator) GS0101: A. Degree: in behavioral or social science or closely related discipline directly related to this position. Note: You must submit your transcripts. OR B. Have a combination of education and experience that provided me with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Generally 24 semester hours of relative coursework is considered as equivalent to a major field of study. Experience must demonstrate you possess the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform the work of a Social Scientist demonstrating the ability to perform analysis writing critical thinking and research. Note: You must submit your transcripts. OR C. Have at least four years of appropriate experience that provided me with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Experience must demonstrate you possess the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform the work of a Social Scientist demonstrating the ability to perform analysis writing critical thinking and research. (You must document this experience in your application.) To qualify for this position at the GS13 grade level you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: Specialized Experience: Have at least one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) specialized experience that provided me the knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the major duties of the Social Scientist (Science Coordinator) GS010113. Examples of specialized experience include but are not limited to the following: Assist with or develop and advance social and behavioral sciences research related to human use and human interactions (visitation) within natural areas such as parks or forests. Assists with or oversees social science/human dimension aspects of a visitor use management program. Provide for the delivery of research data models findings decisionsupport tools or other research products. Ensure research work and work products completed by project teams is accurate valid reliable and in full compliance with all federal laws rules and regulations. Manage vendor contract interactions or university partnerships to implement data collections for research. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
