The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SOCIAL WORKER SERIES 0185 Basic Requirements: Education: You must have successful completion of a Masters in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Licensure: You must have an independent license in Social Work to provide clinical intervention services. Additional Requirements for the grade GS12: Experience: In addition to meeting the above education and licensure requirements you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (obtained in public or private sector) providing clinical intervention including evaluation diagnosis and treatment services for child or adult mental health problems using established techniques in investigating diagnosing and developing treatments of mental emotional or behavioral disorders contributing to the development of community mental health programs and/or interventions using knowledge of a range of concepts principles and practices involving clinical applications of mental health and social services to address patient needs. This work must have included knowledge of special mental health problems faced by Native Americans in order to provide community and/or hospital based mental health services. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
