The Successful Applicant

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title 5 P.L. 114328 Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) and is open to current US Federal employees interested in working for the Department of the Air force to meet our mission requirements in social work and behavioral health. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is excluded and ineligible for labor organization representation. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Must have a masters degree in social work by a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Note: A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the masters degree in social work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS12 must have 24 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. Completion of the Air Force Social Work Internship Program may be substituted for 12 months of the specialized experience requirement or have at least one year experience at the GS11 level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that involved clinical social work assignments. Experience that demonstrates particular competencies to successfully manage a state psychological health program. Experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems helping them workout plans for improving the situation providing assistance and services referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Note: A minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work is highly desired
