The Successful Applicant

This position is a TIER THREE clinical care provider. Applicants must meet all of the following qualifications as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8: State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Social Work Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination candidates for privileging must have achieved a passing score on that examination. Minimum educational qualifications require one of the following: Masters degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree OR Masters degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree OR Masters degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree OR Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a 1year APA accredited clinical internship. Have engaged in 2 years that includes at least 2000 hours fulltime postmasters supervised clinical experience. NOTE: Your resume must support your answer and you must submit appropriate documents for verification (ie. licensure certification transcripts etc.) In addition to the Basic Education Requirements your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) identifying personal and social problems to independently reach accurate conclusions and to provide appropriate solutions 2) clinically responding to the needs clients in child and domestic abuse situations and 3) documenting psychosocial assessments treatment plans and case review committee reports.
