Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Degree: Masters Degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)In addition to meeting the basic requirement above to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify based on your experience your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) conducting clinical assessments of substance abuse patients (2) formulating treatment plans and (3) providing professional counseling to substance abuse patients This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS11). License: A current active valid unrestricted independent Social Worker license from a U.S. State District of Columbia Commonwealth territory or jurisdiction is required. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS11). All applicants must meet applicable timeingrade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
