The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 05/20/2024. TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS07. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. In this instance you must provide an additional SF50 that clearly demonstrates oneyear timeingrade. BASIC REQUIREMENT: You MUST meet the Basic Requirements and the Minimum Qualifications to qualify for this Social Science Program Coordinator position. Degree: Behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position.. OR Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Combination of education and experience: That provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience. For example an applicant with 6 months of appropriate experience equivalent to GS7 (50 percent of the experience requirement for GS9) and 27 semester hours of appropriate graduate education (50 percent of the education requirement for GS9 in excess of that required for GS7) would be qualified for a GS9 position. NOTE: If you qualify by a combination transcripts are required and your experience must be detailed in your resume. In addition to meeting the above requirements you must also meet one of the following minimum requirements for the grade level that you are applying. To qualify for this position at the GS9 level you must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS7) in the Federal Service that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Social Science Program Coordinator. OR Education: Successfully completed two (2) years of progressively higherlevel graduate education leading to a masters degree or masters or equivalent graduate degree in a related field of the position to be filled. Education at the graduate level must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. OR Combination: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education (beyond the first year) and specialized experience as described above to meet the total experience requirements. The education portion must include graduate courses that demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to do to the work of this position. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: Data Management Teaches Others Team Building Therapy and Counseling Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religions spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: While some of the work is sedentary including researching writing program planning and data analysis the position will have periods of extensive walking and movement throughout the healthcare system prolonged standing and transporting light to medium weight objects. The Employee Whole Health coordinator will also be required to travel between sites (CBOCs and outlying clinics) encompassed in the healthcare system. The work is conducted in a medical center environment and involves risk of exposure to a variety of contagious diseases. The work area is adequately lighted heated air conditioned and ventilated.
