The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 04/24/2024. Individual Occupational Requirements: Applicants who meet the Individual Occupational Requirements described below are fully qualified for the specified entry grade and must also meet the specialized experience and/or education requirements. To qualify you must possess one of the following: Basic Requirements: Degree: behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the above Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) applicants must also meet the experience and/or directly related education relevant to this position. AND TimeInGrade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS05. For a GS09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS07. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess oneyear timeingrade as required by the announcement. In this instance you must provide an additional SF50 that clearly demonstrates oneyear timeingrade. Note: TimeInGrade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. AND You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS07: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Review supporting material to determine compliance with regulations and policy requirements Plan and implement program(s) within a medical center setting Establish creative engagements to Veterans employees and community partners in a newly developed program Present and obtain data in a wide variety of formats such as public speaking to large groups both inperson and using telehealth technology documenting Personal Health Inventories/assessments SMART (Specific Measurable Attain Realistic and Timed) Goals Personal Health Plans in computerized patient records Develop training materials for educational needs through qualitative and quantitative methods. OR Education:1 year of graduatelevel education (transcripts required). OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) (transcripts required).S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing (2) gradepoint average or (3) honor society membership. Class standing Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college university or major subdivision such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration based on completed courses. Gradepoint average (G.P.A.) Applicants must have a gradepoint average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) as recorded on their official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. OR Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: Combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate education or superior academic achievement as described above which totals at least one year. One year of fulltime graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of fulltime study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school 18 semester hours should be considered an academic year of graduate study. (transcript required). GS 09: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Analyzes current research literature on health and wellness including behaviors that promote a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing. Assembles health and wellness coaching techniques to promote positive behavior change using oneonone couple or group modalities. Corresponds effective interpersonal communication techniques to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships. Directs the client in developing a comprehensive personalized health plan based on a patients actionoriented goals. Identify resources internal and external to the organization that are necessary for achieving patient overall health and wellbeing goals. Interprets information technology (IT) equipment and various/emerging technologies to carry out work responsibilities. Transcribes patient information using appropriate systems. OR Education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a masters degree or masters or equivalent graduate degree (transcript required). OR Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: Combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate education. When combining education with experience one year of fulltime graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of fulltime study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school 18 semester hours should be considered an academic year of graduate study. Parttime graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of fulltime study at the school attended. (transcript required). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 3540 hours of work per week. Parttime experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
