The Successful Applicant

Only experience and education obtained by 03/03/2026 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess both the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification GS05 One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS04 in the Federal service. Examples of qualifying Specialized Experience include: group leader in a community or residential recreation or training program youth summer camp counselor job skills trainer work that demonstrated the ability to lead and train members of a job crew group activities leader in the Armed Services unit leader for a dormitory group in a residential facility assistant to associate staff engaged in work of a social services nature such as drug/alcohol addiction or other work directly related to the duties of the position. OR Successfully completed a full 4year course of study leading to a bachelors degree that (a) included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of subjects directly related to the work of the position (b) included a major in social behavior human behavior or health care or (c) was supplemented by experience in activities that afforded the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate the skills required by the position. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100 of the requirement Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
