The Successful Applicant

To qualify for this position your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements: Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the masters degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to the Basic Requirements you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Specialized Experience : Experience with providing integrated behavioral health services in a primary care setting including knowledge of and skills in applying brief functional assessments brief therapies and a range of primary care based behavioral health interventions and consultation experience with principles and practices of social work in the performance of providing direct clinical services and case management perform a broad repertoire of psychotherapeutic skills from a variety of theoretical perspectives develop treatment plans plan develop and facilitate trainings for program staff and document work. Supervisory or Managerial Abilities: Candidates must have demonstrated in their work experience or training that may possess or have the potential to develop the qualities of successful supervision as listed under the appropriate category below. Ability to motivate train and works effectively with subordinates who have a variety of background and training Ability to accomplish the quality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time Ability to plan own work and carry out assignments effectively Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions related to work Ability to understand and further manage goals as these affect daytoday operations Ability to develop improvements in or design new work methods and procedures. Selective Factor: Must possess a current unrestricted U.S. State license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a Licensed Medical Social Worker (LMSW). (Provide copy of license with application. License will be verified before referral.) Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the TimeInGrade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. TimeInGrade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
