APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: NonBargaining Position AOC A: NG Employees working at the location specified. AOC B: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard. AOC C: Open to the public. The supervisor for this position is Major Jarrett NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Tier 3 Security Clearance. License Requirement: Applicant must have a current unrestricted State license to practice clinical social work independently. DEGREE REQUIREMENT: Masters Degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work accredited by the council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and acceptable to the Surgeon General. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of social work theories principles techniques and resources is mandatory. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must indicate at least 36 months of experience in clinical social work assignments. This experience demonstrates particular competencies of knowledge skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Must have specialized experience in professional social work that includes interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems helping them workout plans for improving the situation providing assistance and services referring them to community resources and other organizations as indicated and assisting them to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate. Except as stated above no other substitution of education for specialized experience is allowed. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual however established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicants record of experience training and education must show possession of the knowledge skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION In accordance with section 9902(h) of title 5 United States Code annuitants reemployed in the Department of Defense shall receive full annuity and salary upon appointment. They shall not be eligible for retirement contributions participation in the Thrift Savings Plan or a supplemental or redetermined annuity for the employment period. Discontinued service retirement annuitants (i.e. retired under section 8336(d)(1) or 8414(b)(1)(A) of title 5 United States Code) appointed to the Department of Defense may elect to be subject to retirement provisions of the new appointment as appropriate.
