The Successful Applicant
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual Individual Occupational Requirements for GS0187: Social Services Series). GS8: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS7 grade level in the Federal service in a program of direct social welfare services that required the application of program policy and operations knowledge in providing social welfare services and/or assisting social workers. Specialized experience is experience in a program of direct Social Welfare Services that required the application of program policy and operations knowledge in providing social welfare services and/or assisting social workers. Examples of specialized experience may include familiarity with standard case management principles and procedures and understanding of importance of the social service process with American Indians and Tribes to create a social environment in their communities that emphasizes safety and wellbeing for all children and adults promote family stability and value an individuals independence while providing protection and financial assistance and/or social services to those who must remain dependent. Development and maintaining of IIM accounts. The examples above are not all inclusive (refer to the summary of duties for specialized experience). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
