The Successful Applicant

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Referrals of qualified applicants will be issued in the following order: Area 2: All permanent and indefinite WYNG Title 5 and T32 DST employed with the Wyoming Air/Army National Guard. Area 3: All Current Federal employees within the Competitive and Excepted Service and Competitive Service Reinstatement Eligible employees. Situational telework may be considered on a casebycase basis. Position : 1075721 Selecting Official: Col Jeremy Schaad This is a Professional Series position IAW 5 USC 3319. Eligible candidates will be listed in score order including veterans preference points. Upon acceptance to this position if selected candidate is a competitive employee they will convert to Excepted Service and be required to sign a memorandum IAW 5 CFR 302.102. Acceptance of the proposed appointment will take the employee out of the competitive service while s/he occupies the position. In order to qualify you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience if qualifying based on education your transcripts will be required as part of your application. BASIC REQUIREMENT: a. Masters in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Substitute degrees will not be accepted. b. Must have at least 24 months postMSW experience that may have included conducting individual and group psychotherapy and marriage and family counseling organizing managing and administering adult child and family prevention and outreach services interviewing clients to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues providing professional assistance and determining appropriate referral services/opinions and in planning and implementing professional community organizational strategies and initiatives formulating of needs assessments development of prevention programs and marketing of developed programs. c. Possession of an active (characterized by present activity participation practice or use) current (not revoked suspended or lapsed) valid and unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia Puerto Rico or the U.S Virgin Islands which allows practice without supervision. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience. PARTTIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or parttime work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. FEDIERAL TIMEINGRADE: Applicants who are current nontemporary Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet timeingrade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS9 Level. An SF50 that shows your timeingrade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If you are a current nontemporary GS employee applying for a higher grade than the grade you currently hold provide an SF50 that shows the required lower grade was held for at least one year. Some SF50s effective within the last 52 weeks will not demonstrate the required lower grade was held for at least one year (e.g. General Adjustment SF50 from this year). In many cases we may need to see two (2) SF50s to determine timeingrade and eligibility for promotion. Professional knowledge of social work practices principles and theories to develop and implement comprehensive primary and secondary prevention programs that address effective programs to prevent or lessen the impact of a wide range of psychosocial and environmental problems such as sociopathic personalities and family groups who react to their circumstances with impulsive behavior that may be selfdestructive or depredatory provide training for other health care professionals and other installation personnel on issues related to the promotion of psychological health coordinate programs and enlist the aid of community organizations/agencies. 2. Professional knowledge of complex helping systems and professional organizations how they positively or negatively affect individual and family welfare and the multiple ways these systems and organizations operate to deliver services. 3. Professional knowledge of a wide array of psychological problems and disorders that affect adults families and organizations and the varied resources needed to treat them. 4. Professional knowledge of problemsolving strategies and evidencebased treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide shortterm problem resolution to clients or refer them appropriately for clinical treatment. 5. Ability to directly apply professional diagnostic skills to individuals and families. Skill in applying psychological and social work methods and theory in an outpatient clinical setting and providing consultation for health care providers and military leaders. 6. Excellent skills in oral and written communication to include report writing and maintaining proper records to document services provided including patient care follow up and referrals. 7. Ability to administer and interpret select psychological and needsassessment measures. 8. Ability to assess individual family group and community needs provide a wide array of preventive and problemsolving resolutions as indicated. DRIVERS LICENSE: Must possess a valid drivers license.
